The Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC) has announced that three companies have been shortlisted for Puerto Rico Ocean Technology Complex (PROTech) project in Yabucoa. The shortlisted bidders are as following:
The project is an ocean thermal energy conversion facility that converts energy for the usage of various industries such as energy production, aquaculture, agriculture, micro-algae cultivation, refrigeration, among others. This innovative concept, which will be the first in the Caribbean and the third in the world, will be the spearhead of economic growth in the southeast region of Puerto Rico, and eventually the Island.
The selected companies will be invited to respond to the request for proposal (RFP) of the project.
