Sempra Infrastructure has announced several agreements with the Mexican Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) for the joint development of several projects across Mexico including:

  • Rerouting of the Guaymas-El Oro pipeline in Sonora, Mexico;
  • Development of Vista Pacífico liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Topolobampo, Sinaloa, Mexico;
  • Development of an LNG terminal in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, Mexico.

The agreement paves the road for the restoration of services provided by the Guaymas-El Oro pipeline, outlines the path forward for the Vista Pacífico LNG terminal including the configuration of advance engineering and permitting efforts and explores the potential development of an LNG terminal in Salina Cruz to support the Isthmus of Tehuantepec project.

These projects are aimed to optimize the current natural gas pipeline system of Mexico as well as provide LNG supply sources and expand supplies in the country.
