The Unión del Sur Highway Concessionaire, led by Sacyr Concesiones, has commissioned the first section of the 4G highway project between Rumichaca and Pasto (Colombia). This 16.9 kilometer stretch of dual carriageway between Tangua and Catambuco together with 5.2 km of improvement between Catambuco and Pasto represents 27% of the total length of the project. The road between Rumichaca and Pasto will have a total length of 83 km and will improve connectivity with the border with Ecuador.
The project includes the construction of a second 83-kilometer road between Pasto (capital of the Department of Nariño) and Rumichaca (a town on the border with Ecuador) that will increase the country's competitiveness, the connectivity of the region and promote the economic and social development of the communities in the area of influence. The planned investment in construction is EUR 690 million (US$ 779.83 million).
