The government of Thailand has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Transport to extend the MRT's Pink line further 3 km to provide a connection to Muang Thong Thani complex in Nonthaburi's Pak Kret district. The original plan was to develop a 34.5 km link connecting Khae Rai to Min Buri with 30 stations. With the new extension, the line will be extended further 3 km from Si Rat Station and will have 2 more stations.
