The Royal Commission for Riyadh City and the Ministry of Sport has announced a plan for a 92,000-capacity stadium on a 660,000 sq m site on King Salman Road next to King Abdulaziz Park, close to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Arabian football team will play their home games at the King Salman Stadium, which has 2,200 dignitary seats, 300 VIP seats, 120 hospitality suites, and a 150-seat royal suite. It will have inside screens, indoor gardens, a rooftop walking track, and sustainable cooling technologies for both the stadium floor and the crowd. More than 360,000 square meters of adjacent sporting facilities will include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, an athletics track, spectator zones, two training fields, and an outdoor volleyball, basketball, and padel tennis court. A sports track spanning 9 km will connect all of these amenities to King Abdulaziz Park. The stadium is due to be completed by Q4 of 2029.
