The Royal Commission for Al Ula (RCU) has signed two strategic partnerships with AECOM and a consortium, formed by Egis, Assystem, and Setec, for the three phases of the Journey Through Time regeneration masterplan.
Phase 1 of the development has an estimated cost of SAR57 billion (US$15 billion) in investments and covers Al Ula's core 20 km historical area. This phase includes social, economic and sustainability projects in five hubs with a focus on infrastructure, hospitality, arts & culture, and social and community development.
AECOM will provide a range of integrated services across the entire AlUla program including executive-level program management as well as a project delivery office that will work with RCU and cover construction and operation. In addition, AECOM will lead all design activities from setting standards, delivering the digital ecosystem, leading innovation, managing designers, and delivering scopes.
The Egis-led consortium will support infrastructure program management and construction management. The consortium will deploy a core team based in Al Ula with specialists for engineering, construction, and operations management and a range of international experts.
