The City of São Paulo, through the Departments of Municipal Government (SGM) and Tourism (SMTUR), has called for public consultation for the granting of the Interlagos racetrack complex. The bidding document provides that the winning company will be responsible for the renovation, management, maintenance and operation of the complex. The concession will be for 35 years and the modality is an international competition.
Those interested in participating in the bidding should consider in their proposals: details of potential uses of existing structures, especially for large events (besides shopping, hotel etc); study of possible additional ventures; and also analysis of general aspects of race track management - in addition to maintaining and exploring the race track. The Interlagos Complex should house, besides motorsports, leisure equipment, and culture, also ensuring better structuring and requalification of the area.
The future concessionaire will be required to modernize, recover, overhaul and reconfigure all complex systems, including electrical, plumbing, sewage, drainage, telecommunications, information technology, and air conditioning systems. To carry out such interventions in the area, the person concerned must obtain all necessary approvals, licenses and / or permits. Security improvements are also foreseen with the deployment of cameras integrated into a Command and Control Center.
Interested parties may consult the minutes of the bidding documents at the website of the Municipal Government Secretariat (SGM). Suggestions or criticisms may be made in writing, until October 10th, accompanied by identification of the interested party. They can also be forwarded (with confirmation of receipt) by email: interlagos@prefeitura.sp.gov.br or physically, by protocol, located at Viaduto do Chá, 15 - 11th floor - Center. At the end of the public consultation period, contributions will be reviewed for subsequent release of the final bidding notice.
The complex consists of the José Carlos Pace Race Track and the Ayrton Senna Karting Track. It also has an off-road track, perimeter support tracks, arenas, and administrative building. Opened on May 12, 1940, it has hosted international championships and races, in addition to major shows and festivals.
