Santo Andre re-tenders sanitation PPP

The city of Santo André, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, has re-launched the tender process for the Santo André water & waste PPP project.

This announcement comes after Sao Paulo's Federal Audit Court (TCE/SP) suspended the process, in October 2015, after the water company of the state of Sao Paulo (SABESP) presented complaints regarding the tender documents.

The concession involves the operation and maintenance (O&M) of Santo André water supply and wastewater systems. Additionally, the preferred bidder will be responsible for the O&M of the new water treatment plant currently under construction and for the management of the physical losses in the city's waterworks network.

The concession contract would have had a period of 35 years and its value was estimated at R$600 million (US$149.3 million)

Santo André is a Brazilian municipality located in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, including a group of municipalities known as Greater ABC Region. Its population is approximately 700,000 inhabitants. It occupies an area of 175.7 km².

Interested parties must submit their offers on or before 7 March 2016.
