PROINVERSIÓN has discussed the progress for the expansion and improvement of the San Jerónimo de Cusco wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Cusco, Peru.

The ongoing development of the Cusco WWTP, overseen by PROINVERSIÓN during its structuring phase, aims to enhance and extend the conveying capability across a combined length of over 16 km for the General and Huatanay interceptors. Additionally, the intention is to augment and amplify the treatment capacity of the San Jerónimo WWTP, accommodating an average flow of 938 liters/second. The projected investment for this initiative is set at approximately US$46 million.

This plant is slated to possess the capability to process 200,000 m3 of wastewater daily. The treated water will find utility in irrigation and various non-potable applications. By mitigating pollution and enhancing water quality, this plant stands to elevate the quality of life for the Cusco populace.
