Sacyr has announced the signing of loan agreements for a total amount of US$60 million for the Rumichaca-Pasto highway project in Colombia, which is part of the Fourth Generation (4G) Toll Road Concessions Programme. The project involves the construction and operation of a 78km dual carriageway in the southwest of the country.
Backed by financial commitments from Banco Santander and JP Morgan, the loan guarantees the resources for the implementation of the works on the first section of the highway between Pedregal and Catambuco in the next few months.
Sacyr has stated that full financial close is not yet possible, as it is still working on guaranteeing the feasibility of the project and gaining a consensus among all the players in the community of Nariño.
In addition to the new road, the project will involve the construction of six viaducts and rehabilitation of 5km of existing road.
