The Rutas del Este, a consortium consisting of Sacyr (60%) and the Paraguayan firm Ocho A (40%), has completed the restructuring financing for the Route 2 PPP project in Paraguay.
The duplication of the Route 2 is one of the most important road projects in the Region Oriental in Paraguay. The Rutas del Este has refinanced the bank loan of US$176 million granted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in 2019 with the issuance of this private bond for US$218.5 million over 15 years. The project financing also has a bond for US$240 million issued in October 2019.
The construction of Route PY02 requires an investment of USD520 million. The project runs from the kilometer 73 of the city Eusebio Ayala to 183 from Caaguazú town. With more than 65% of the road in operation, 95.7 kilometers of the Route 2 is opened for transit. The road is divided into five main sections with variants in the municipalities through which it passes.
