Sacyr Concesiones has secured EUR170 million (US$185 million) in financing with Brazilian development bank Brazilian Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) for the RSC-287 roadway development project in Brazil.
This transaction secures the necessary EUR430 million (US$468 million) investment for the development of the Rota de Santa Maria, a 204-km road project. The responsibility of operating and maintaining, as well as improving and extending the RSC-287 roadway between Tabaí and Santa Maria in Rio Grande do Sul, will be undertaken by Rota de Santa Maria, a subsidiary fully owned by Sacyr Concesiones. This project has a duration of 30 years and will provide an estimated backlog worth EUR4 billion (US$4,358 million) for Sacyr Concesiones.
The RSC-287 roadway establishes a crucial transportation link between Tabaí and Santa María. It connects the BR 471 and BR 153 federal roads and experiences significant daily traffic, making it one of the busiest roads in the state. With its extensive reach, the roadway will benefit over 1.18 million residents residing in the project's influence area.
