The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has signed an addendum with which the operation and maintenance of the Rafael Núñez de Cartagena international airport are sought until February 2024 in Colombia.

Through this addendum, the aim is for the SACSA concessionaire to take charge of airport management, including direct operation and maintenance of the terminal, runway, platforms, airport facilities, visual approach aids, and other related areas. This arrangement is set to be implemented over the next 7 months.

The anticipated plan involves awarding the new IP (Infrastructure Project) by the end of 2023, which will encompass the construction of a new terminal building spanning 17,360 m2 and remodeling 2,814 m2 of the existing terminal. Additionally, the project will include expanding the commercial platform to 15,740 m2, constructing a parking lot covering 11,683 m2 with a capacity for 330 vehicles, and building parallel roads to the runway to enhance operational efficiency.
