The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has announced the progress of Rumichaca - Pasto highway project in Colombia.
The milestone for the infrastructure of the southwest of the country and facilitates mobility between Colombia and Ecuador has been reached with the delivery of approximately 10 km of dual carriageway between San Juan (Ipiales) and El Contadero and the construction of the Boquerón vehicular bridge, the works in the Fourth Generation (4G) Rumichaca – Pasto project.
The project involves the development of a new 83 km highway in the south-west of Colombia. The project includes the development of 7 tunnels and about 30 bridges. It is expected that the travel time between Rumichaca and Pasto will be reduced from 2 hours to 1 hour.
This project had an investment of COP2.5 billion (US$520.25 million) and generated more than 13,600 jobs.
