Royal Assent was granted for Phase One of HS2. In the next 18 months extensive preparation work will take place. This includes: Surveys, ground investigations, land clearance, archaeological works and new habitat creation – as well as engaging with communities to help them better understand how this programme of work affects them. Major construction will begin in 2018
