The Ministry of Public Works has reported that the works of Vespucio Norte with the connection of Route 68 have a 40% progress.
The project, requiring a US$91 million investment, aims to modernize highway connections and increase the capacity of express lanes and local roads around the Américo Vespucio axis. Commencing in March 2022, the project has already achieved a 40% completion rate. It is anticipated that various sections of the initiative will be progressively opened throughout 2024, with the entire project expected to be completed by 2025. The improvements, beneficial for road safety and reduced travel times on the Vespucio Norte Highway, extend to enhanced local connectivity in the northern and southern sectors of Pudahuel. The project incorporates elements to enhance residents' quality of life, such as universal accessibility in pedestrian walkways, acoustic screens, new recreational and landscaping areas, LED lighting, television surveillance cameras, cycle paths, and traffic lights.
Additionally, a three-hectare park in the Serrano sector will be remodeled, featuring a sports park, amphitheater, figure skating court, dressing rooms, parking lots, bicycle park, recreation areas, and children's games, all properly illuminated and equipped with surveillance cameras. Soundproofing measures are also being implemented in various areas.
