The Rota Verde consortium, formed by the companies Aviva Fundo Investimento and Tecpav has won the auction for the concession of 426 km of highways in Goiás structured by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES).
Part of the federal highways BR-060/452/GO, Rota Verde connects the cities of Goiânia, Rio Verde, and Itumbiara in the state of Goiás. The stretches are in a region where agribusiness predominates, which also has a railway terminal near Rio Verde. The project anticipates a BRL 4 billion (US$ 648 million) investment over 30 years for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of transportation infrastructure. Plans include 20 km of new lanes on a dual carriageway near Goiânia, 32 km of additional dual carriageways, and 102 km of third lanes on BR-452/GO. Marginal roads will be constructed at urban crossings, along with a designated stopping and rest area for truck drivers, to improve road safety and functionality.
