Cochin Smart Mission Limited (CSML) has envisaged a robotic Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) system capable of parking 140 cars at a time in Kerala.
The elevator-shuttle robo-parker parking system is part of measures that the agency is taking to tackle problems like obstructive and illegal parking by motorists, which has been stifling smooth traffic and pedestrian movement in the city and its immediate suburbs. The MLCP also offers convenient features like token/smart card/RFID card systems and additional parking facilities for users in commercial areas. The distinguishing feature of this MLCP is its ability to maximize parking capacity in limited spaces compared to traditional MLCPs. The operation and maintenance of the system, spanning 7 floors, will be entrusted to the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) for a duration of 5 years.
