Saudi Arabia's Water & Electricity L.L.C (WEC) has received qualification documents from 15 private developers for the independent sewage treatment plant in the city of Taif, in the Mecca Province of KSA. The preferred bidder will have to develop, finance, engineer, procure, construct, implement, own, operate, maintain and transfer a sewage treatment plant, which will have a total treatment capacity of up to 270,000 m3/day.

The companies that submitted qualifications are the following:

9. Metito Utilities Limited, Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu (Marafiq), Mowah Co.;
10. Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Miahona Company;
11. Orascom Construction;
12. Samsung Engineering Company Limited;
13. Saudi Services for Electro Mechanic Works Company (SSEM);
14. SUEZ Groupe;
15. Utico FZC, Toshiba Water Solutions, MAJIS Industrial Services.
