The Indian Railways Station Development Corporation (IRSDC) has launched the bidding process for the redevelopment of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) railway station in Mumbai. The first step for the bidding process is the request for qualifications (RFQ). The estimated investment for the project is INR 16.42 billion (US$ 222.4 million).
The scope of works involves the construction of commercial spaces including restaurants and cafes along with parking spaces for passengers inside the terminus as well as segregation of outstation and local train passenger movements with the help of connecting decks. The authority is planning to construct an elevated deck connecting platform number 8 to 18.
