The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) has launched a request for qualifications (RFQ) seeking a private partner for the development of AlKhairan Integrated water and power plant (IWPP) phase 1 in Kuwait.
The selected bidder will be responsible for the design, finance, construction, operation, maintenance, and transfer of IWPP plant at the AlKhairan site located at the south boundary existing Az-Zour South power complex, approximately 100 km south of Kuwait city on the Arabian Gulf coast. The partner will enter into Energy Conversion and Water Purchase Agreement (ECWPA) with KAPP for the concession period of 25 years. The project is expected to provide 1,800 MW of power generation capacity and 125 MIGD desalinated water production capacity.
The deadline to submit the qualifications is August 16, 2022.
