The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has launched a request for prequalifications (RFQ) to pursue research in the field of broadband technology in Nigeria.
The project will result in cost-effective satellite system solutions in rural Nigeria through the public-private partnership. It is part of the solution towards meeting the country's goal of providing up to 90% of Nigerians with fast, affordable, reliable and high-speed fixed broadband internet at a price not more than N390 per 1GB of data by the year 2025.
Once complete, the Satellite Broadband project is expected to increase the fixed-broadband penetration for Nigeria from its current abysmal level of about 0.2%.
The deadline to submit the responses is August 19, 2021. More information about this business opportunity can be found here.
