RFQ Issued for High Frequency Rail project in Toronto

The Canadian government has issued the Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) for a High-Frequency Rail (HFR) project between Québec City - Toronto in Ontario, Canada.

The scope of work involves the context and features of the HFR project, evaluation criteria, candidate security requirements, funding support and cost-effectiveness.

HFR will transform intercity passenger rail corridor in a variety of ways, including:

  • providing more frequent services;
  • Offering more reliable and improved on-time performance;
  • Shortening journey times;
  • adding new services to Peterborough and Trois-Rivières; and
  • Providing a greener rail system travel option using electrified technology.
