The Quebec Ministry of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transportation Electrification (MTMDET), in association with the Société québécoise des infrastructures (SQI), is launching an international request for qualification (RFQ) for the design, construction and financing of the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel project.
The Tunnel is a strategic road link for passenger and freight transportation for the metropolitan region, Québec, and Canada. The Tunnel is an integral part of autoroute 25 and links the eastern side of the Island of Montréal and Longueuil through ïle Charron in Boucherville. It is the longest submerged tunnel in Canada.
Firms have until Sept. 12 to submit for qualification. At the end of the Call for Qualifications, a maximum of three qualified Respondents will be invited to respond to the RFP, scheduled for December 2018. The winning candidate will be announced in December 2019.
