Breakthrough Energy and European Investment Bank have launched a request for proposal (RFP) seeking interest from private companies to implement emerging climate technology projects across the European Union. The program aims to mobilize EUR820 million (US$1 billion) in climate investment between 2022 and 2027 targeted toward the European Green Deal and the EU’s 2030 climate target.
Through the RFP the authority looks to identify and select emerging climate technology projects based in the European Union for project-level financing in the following four technology sectors:
The companies can propose technology that has been proven in pilot-scale conditions to reduce overall CO2 and is able to move to
a commercial scale, with substantial development progress toward implementation.
The due date for Part I Submission is May 13, 2022. The RFP is expected to remain open for submissions until December 31, 2027. All submissions done after May 13, 2022 will be evaluated on a rolling basis. More information can be found on our business opportunities page here.
