Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) in Saudi Arabia has issued a request for proposal (RFP) to ten shortlisted companies for the development of an independent power plant in Taiba located near the Medina region. The gas-fired plant will have the capacity to produce 3,600MW of electricity.

The selected firm will enter into a power purchase agreement with authority for a duration of 25 years.
