The Office of Hydrogen Power South Australia has launched a Request for Proposal (RfP) for the development of a green hydrogen production plant located in Whyalla City, South Australia.

The project involves the development of a green hydrogen power plant, including 250 MW of hydrogen electrolyzer facilities and fit-for-purpose hydrogen storage infrastructure on the Eyre Peninsula. The project's estimated cost is AUD593 million(US$398 million) and is expected to be operational by December 2025.
