The Puerto Rico Ports Authority (PRPA) has launched a request for information (RFI) seeking firms for the development, operation, management, and improvement of Piers M, N & O, located in the Puerto Nuevo port area of San Juan. Spread across an area of 18.70 acres these piers are approximately 1,200 feet in length and handle 80% percent of Puerto Rico’s freight goods. The authority has adopted a lend-lease, development, operation, management, and improvement model to award the concession.
The private partner will be responsible for the installation of cranes, cargo handling, stevedoring, and storage of cargo at the M, N, and O piers and adjacent land parcels. The objective of the project is to optimize the area for stevedoring of maritime cargo, installation and utilization of cranes for the handling of merchandise, receipt of cargo, and potential temporary storage.
The deadline to submit the response is October 18, 2021. For more information about this RFI, visit our business opportunity page here.
