Central Energy Fund (CEF) in South Africa has launched a request for information (RFI) seeking participation from private partner for the development of LNG import and distribution terminal at the Ngqura deepwater port in the Eastern Cape.
CEF has chosen a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) configuration as a prefered option for the terminal. It will have a capacity of 170,000m³ of LNG storage with more than 4 million tons per year (mtpa) of regasification capacity. The concession period for the project is 20 years.
