The city of Centennial has issued a request for information (RFI) to invite for-profits, nonprofits, and other organizations interested in forming partnerships on the city’s fiber-optic initiative. The goal is to explore potential public-private partnerships for improving broadband connectivity, which directly affects local residents, businesses and community anchor institutions.
The scope of work may include engineering and construction to expand the fiber-optic grid applying existing city-owned fiber and conduit. This can be done using a 50-mile, 432-fiber strand city backbone or other existing infrastructure. The information obtained during the RFI will help shape the city's final decision.
The deadline to submit the responses is May 10, 2021.
