The World Bank Group has launched a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) seeking a technical consultant for the Wastewater treatment plant project in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The project scope of works includes development of tertiary treatment plant (TTP) of output capacity of about 125 MLD along with rehabilitation of two existing sewage treatment plants; development of a distribution network for supply to an industrial cluster; and operation & maintenance (O&M) of the rehabilitated STPs, proposed TTP and the distribution network.
The technical consultant will assist the authority with all the technical and economic aspects of the Project such as demand and market assessment of water requirements of the industries in that city, both in terms of quality and quantity; optimization of Project capacity; evaluation of industrial wastewater treatment technologies and best sludge disposal/reuse practices viz a viz land requirements, lifecycle cost, modular implementation, etc.; estimation of all components of the Project; development of performance specifications for the private sector; detailed estimation of Project cost- capital as well as O&M; analysis of economic benefits of recycled waters; definition of technical criteria for qualification and technical evaluation of the proposals.
