The government of Bangladesh has launched a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) seeking legal and E&S consultants for development of wastewater management facilities in Gazipur. The scope of works involves the construction of 2 STPs with a cumulative capacity of 56 MLD, a 137 km long sewerage network, and fecal sludge management solutions comprising of mechanical desludging of septic tanks in a periodic manner, transportation of sludge to 3 fecal sludge treatment plants and treatment of the fecal sludge before discharge.
The government of Bangladesh has appointed International Finance Corporation (IFC) to provide transaction advisory support to structure a suitable PPP framework and identify private sector partner.
The E&S consultants will identify key E&S risks and potential impacts affecting the Project, related gaps in information, and ways to close such gaps and support the Project development in line with IFC Performance Standards. The legal consultants provide assistance to IFC in all legal and regulatory aspects of the project, including detailed legal review of institutional, policy and regulatory framework pertaining to the wastewater treatment sector, providing inputs on transaction structure, drafting bid documents for the project, responding to the queries pertaining to the bid documents, assistance in evaluation of bids and execution of a contract with the private sector partner identified.
