Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) in the USA has launched a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) inviting interested private partners to submit concepts for the development of Dorrance Street Transit Center PPP.
Located in Downtown Providence, the transit center will replace Kennedy Plaza as RIPTA’s central bus depot. The selected private partner will be responsible for the mixed-use development that will include an enclosed intermodal transit center and RIPTA administrative offices, as well as an adjacent mixed-use transit-oriented development (TOD). The Transit Center will provide a single organized location, featuring a passenger arrival and seating area with amenities and accommodations for bicyclists as well as retail, public meeting space and residential area.
