The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), under the Federal Ministry of Transportation, has published a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI) for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of two Inland Container Depots (ICD), to be located at Dagbolu, Osun State and Onitsha, Anambra State.

One of the major policy goals of ICD development is the control and reduction of the high cost of maritime container freight to the Nigerian hinterlands. In keeping with this policy goal, the development of ICDs will help in simplifying tariffs at the ports and enhance operational efficiency and cargo shipment to and from Nigeria.

NCS intends to award 25-year concession agreements to the selected private partners. Interested firms and/or consortium of firms are invited to respond to the RFEOI until 3 October 2018.
