The Ministry of Infrastructure in Slovenia has issued an invitation to potential promoters to submit their applications for interest in implementing a public-private partnership for the long-term operation of the Edvard Rusjan Maribor Airport. The project involves the operation of Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport, located in Hoče–Slivnica municipality, north-east Slovenia. The airport opened for commercial traffic in 1976.
A national spatial plan is being prepared for the Edvard Rusjan Airport in Maribor, which will be the basis for the modernization of the existing airport in light of the needs of modern civil passenger and freight traffic, as well as the revitalization of the airport and non-airport infrastructure in accordance with planned traffic and security requirements in accordance with international (ICAO) and European (EASA) security standards.
