The Fijian Government issued a Request for Tender (RFT) for the affordable housing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project.
The government has initiated a tender process to identify qualified investors, developers, and consortia for the construction and financing of over 3,000 affordable housing units across five sites, with land provided by the government. This project aligns with the Coalition Government’s objective of ensuring accessible and decent housing for all communities by 2032, particularly aiding families facing challenges due to escalating land and house prices. The government has already developed essential infrastructure, including access roads, at the designated sites in Raiwaqa, Nepani, Wainibuku, Davuilevu, and Tavakubu. In addition to constructing affordable housing for low and medium-income families, these sites present opportunities for successful bidders to build upscale housing units, which can be sold at market value. This opens avenues for interested investors to diversify their revenue streams.
