The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has put into operation 50 km of rehabilitated road between Girardot and Melgar in Colombia.
The Bogotá-Girardot Third Lane project, managed by ANI, has achieved an overall progress rate of 36.81%. This includes the completion of over 30% of the third lane construction and the rehabilitation of 50% of the pavement along the route. A significant milestone has been the inauguration of the new Tolemaida bridge in Melgar, providing enhanced accessibility for users. This development positively impacts nearly a million residents in municipalities such as Soacha, Silvania, Granada, Fusagasugá, Melgar, Ricaurte, and Girardot, as well as travelers passing through this area.
Work on this crucial project for the region is steadily advancing. To further facilitate mobility during Exodus and Return plans, three or four lanes will be opened in specific areas. The Bogotá-Girardot Third Lane IP project, part of the fourth generation of concessions, involves an investment of US$2.6 billion and encompasses eight Functional Units in the departments of Cundinamarca and Tolima.
