International Public Partnerships reached financial close on February 13, 2019, for the refinancing of Phase 1 of the Blackburn Building Schools for the Future PPP project in UK.
This project includes design, build, financing and maintenance of 2 schools in the Blackburn area. Blackburn is a town near Lancashire, Eastern England. This project is part of Local Education Partnerships (LEPs) in UK, and known as Blackburn Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project. The BSF project is developed in two phases. Blackburn Central High School (BCHS) with Crosshill is a 960-place secondary school for pupils aged 11 - 16 with 900 mainstream places in BCHS and 60 places for SEN provision in Crosshill. The second school, Witton Park Academy is a 1,200-place secondary school for pupils aged 11 -16. During the course of operations, the school converted to Academy status.
The BSF project was awarded to Balfour Beatty, which completed the initial financial close on 13th January 2010.
