The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has started the reconversion works for the Port of Asunción in Paraguay.
The project involves the restoration of the port building, auditorium room and an old helicoidal staircase connecting the ground floor with the upper floor. It also includes the development of a living museum for the citizens to observe the historical remains found on the site.
The port of Asunción serves as the entry point for all imports and exports of cargo as well as riverine passenger transportation to various regions of the nation. Alberto Barrail e Hijos (ABH SA) is incharge of the PYG22,000 million (USD3.13 million) reconversion project.
