The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) of Colombia has announced that the concessionaire Aliadas para el Progreso S.A.S had presented an offer to resurrect the Santana - Mocoa - Neiva project.
The concessionaire is a consortium of companies: Carlos Alberto Solarte Solarte SAS, CASS Constructores SAS and Latinoamericana de Constructores S.A.
The offer was presented by the Ethus business group. The concessionaire submitted the remedial plan to the ANI for its evaluation. Once the plan is reviewed and approved, it will be possible to begin the process of standardization of the project where the priority will be given to the execution of works at critical points in the road corridor, starting with the Pericongo sector.
The Santana - Mocoa - Neiva corridor is one of the priorities for the Government that has taken on the task of reactivating the transport infrastructure projects. This corridor covers 447 kilometers and requires investments of COP 2.9 billion (US$ 0.87 million), to date it has an advance of 5% and has been paralyzed due to lack of financing from its investors.
It should be noted that in February 2019 the ANI declared a serious breach of the obligations of the concession contract, and activated the contractual stage of the remedial plan that, if not successful, could lead to the cancellation of the contract. The concessionaire has been given all the guarantees for the development of the project, complying with the stipulations of the concession contract.
The objective of this PP project is to consolidate a corridor for the movement of passengers and cargo from Ecuador and the south of Colombia with the center of the country, improving competitiveness and promoting the development of the departments of Huila, Cauca and Putumayo.
