Infra S.A. has issued notice for feasibility studies for a stretch of 476 km of the BR-101 highway project in Bahia, Brazil.
The highway runs along the entire east coast of Brazil, from Rio Grande do Norte to Rio Grande do Sul. Studies on traffic, demand, operation, engineering, economic and financial modeling, and legal studies are all part for technical studies related to the reoffer of the concession. 458 km in Esprito Santo state and 21 km in Bahia were included in the initial contract. Factors for the comeback include anticipated traffic that did not materialize, resulting in reduced investment capacity, a lengthy environmental licensing process and a scarcity of land expropriations.
