The Abertis Group has announced that the Dutch vehicle authority (RDW) has awarded a contract to Emovis, the subsidiary of Abertis Mobility Services (Abertis Group), to design, install and maintain the first free-flow tolling systems in the Netherlands on the A24 Blankenburgverbinding highway and a new stretch of highway near Arnhem/Nijmegen called ViA15.
The A24 connects the A15 and A20 and consists of Hollandtunnel and Maasdeltatunnel tunnels and a ViA15 extends the A15 to join the A12 and includes a new bridge over the Pannerdensch canal. Emovis is contracted to design, install and maintain free-flow tolling systems on both A24 and a new bridge over the Pannerdensch canal.
The contract to Emovis includes an initial 8-year term, with three 2-year extensions, and the company will carry out free flow tolling in the Netherlands for the first time.
