The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and the Government of the State of Santa Catarina have launched a public consultation for the prison complex PPP project in Blumenau.
The project includes the construction, equipping and maintenance of a model prison complex with at least 2,979 spaces, of which 1,600 are closed, 800 provisional and 579 semi-open. The project will replace the Regional Prison of Blumenau located in the center of the city and will also incorporate the current Industrial Penitentiary of Blumenau, transforming it into a prison.
The project has an estimated investment of BRL240 million (USD42.24 million). The tender is scheduled to take place at the beginning of the second half of 2022. The public consultation period is open till January 28, 2022.
