The Government of the State of Rio Grande do Sul has started a public consultation for the Concession of the Caracol, Tainhas and Turvo State Parks in Brazil.
Overall, the projects are expected to have an investment of nearly BRL800 million (US$151.2 million) in management, infrastructure and conservation for the parks. The projects were modeled by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and by the Araucárias Consortium. The park Caracol includes the development of new options for adventure activities such as tree climbing and bungee jumping. The Tainhas Park is focused mainly on ecotourism and includes options for water activities and accommodation in camping. The Turvo park involves the development of theme accommodation, a new deck for sighting the fall, towers of animal observation, and river trips along the lines of Iguaçu.
The public can participate in the two open consultations - one for Caracol and Tainhas and the other for Turvo, for a period of 30 days. The link is here.
