The City of Joinville (SC) has opened a public consultation on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project structured with the support of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) for the concession of the BRL191 million (US$37.9 million) public lighting service in Joinville, Brazil.
The BNDES is responsible for modeling the project, with the support of a consortium of consultants formed by the companies Houer Consultorias e Concessões and Viana Castro Advogados. The winning bidder of the tender will have the criterion to invest in the expansion, operation, and maintenance of the municipal public lighting network.
Additionally, the concessionaire will install a remote management system on the city's main thoroughfares and implement outstanding lighting projects in 31 specific locations, including monuments and historic buildings. These investments will provide the municipality with the foundation to explore potential smart city-related services and promote its historical and cultural heritage.
