The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has received proposals for two proposed public-private partnership (PPP) projects in the Philippines.
The consulting services for the Manila Bay-Pasig River-Laguna Lake Ferry (MAPALLAF) Project and the NCR EDSA Busway Project include the preparation of pre-feasibility, feasibility, and assistance to the DOTr in securing necessary government approvals. A total of 4 consulting international and national firms for each project have submitted technical and financial proposals for project preparation.
The MAPALLAF Project aims to establish a ferry system connecting Manila Bay, Pasig River, and Laguna Lake. It will provide an alternative transportation option, reduce traffic congestion, and enhance metro connectivity. The project includes building terminals, acquiring vessels, and implementing necessary infrastructure and operational improvements. The NCR EDSA Busway Project focuses on key elements which are dedicated bus lanes for efficient travel, strategically located bus stops, and modern buses with advanced features.
