The University of Akron has sought proposals to take over the management of student housing at the university campus in Ohio, USA.

The University of Akron has chosen three firms to proceed to the Request for Proposal (RFP) phase for its initiative to enhance and modernize energy infrastructure and on-campus housing facilities through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). Having recently outsourced parking operations, the university will issue RFPs to find partners for the management of student housing operations. During the fall semester, the university housed 2,288 students, achieving a 92% occupancy rate. Approximately half of the first-year students reside in on-campus housing.
