A consortium of Sacyr and Agunsa has presented a US$104 million proposal for the Third Concession of the El Loa Airport in Calama, Chile.
In the initial stage, the winning company will focus on the maintenance and operation of the existing air terminal. The construction stage of the project is scheduled to begin four years after receiving the existing facilities. The project aims to expand the passenger terminal area from 9,763 m2 to 30,378 m2. This third concession will also increase the number of vehicle parking spaces from 512 to 995. Five commercial aircraft parking lots will be added, along with 7 boarding bridges and four remote positions. The size of the commercial aircraft apron will be doubled, expanding from 22,000 m2 to 42,000 m2.
