MyHSR Corp has said that the deadline for submission of concept proposals for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail (KL-SG HSR) has been extended from Nov 15, 2023, to January 15, 2024.

More than 60% of the companies that initially expressed their commitment to submit concept proposals for the KL-SG HSR project by the original deadline of November 15, 2023, have sought an extension. These companies require additional time to establish consortia with potential partners and explore financial options, among other considerations.

To participate in the project, firms and consortia must demonstrate technical expertise, and the capacity to develop and operate the infrastructure system within budgeted costs and adhere to quality and time requirements. They are also expected to present viable commercial and business models, as well as consortium and governance frameworks.

Among the five companies believed to have been shortlisted for the KL-SG HSR project are YTL Corp Bhd, MMC Corp Bhd, Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd, WCT Holdings Bhd, and Berjaya Land Bhd.
