Project status update for NLEX PPP project
The Public-Private Partnership Center in the Philippines has updated the project status for the Manila-North Expressway (NLEX) public-private partnership (PPP) project.
The Phase 1 status of the project is as follows:
- Extended, Rehabilitated and Widened NLE - operational
- Segment No. 1
- Segment No. 2
- Segment No. 3
- Subic Expressway - pre-construction
- Segment No. 4
- Segment No. 5
- Segment No. 6
- Segment No. 7 (Subic Freeport Expressway [SFEX]) - Partial operation commenced in December 2020 and construction was fully completed in February 2021.
- Circumferential Road C-5 (NLEX Harbor Link Project)
- Segment No. 8
i. Segment No. 8.1 - operational
ii. Segment No. 8.2 - ongoing construction - Segment No. 9 - operational
- Segment No. 10
i. Segment 10 - operational
ii. Segment 10, Exit Ramp to Segment 10 - operational
On May 12, 2022, NLEX Corporation will implement new toll rates, P2.00 in the open system and P0.34 per kilometer in the closed system. The Toll Regulatory Board has given NLEX Corporation go signal to increase its toll.
